Improving Performance


Having the Quest 2 as the target hardware brings alot of constraints in graphics. While this doesn't apply as much to the PC version, it is always great to get the game running the best it can. Currently I am working on a new fog system that uses a translucent material apposed to using the default exponential fog which along with some constraints with gettig the fog to look how I want, isn't the most performant option. I had done tests before using a post process shader which while it looked great, ran even worse on quest due to Mobile HDR running terribly. This new material looks just as good as the original post process and should hopefully run well on quest. I am also switching renderer on PC from deffered to forward to improve VR performance.
